East Herts Explorers

Explorers are Scouts aged 14-18 – there are two units in the District – Agilis Explorers meet on Monday nights (8:30-10pm) and meet at 1st Broxbourne Scout HQ and Cygnus Explorers meet at 1st Wormley Scout HQ on Thursday nights (8:30-10pm).

Agilis Explorers first started back in the early 2000s. We are a large group that try new things, make new friends and conquer the small task of changing the world. Explorers have an opportunity to work for their Duke of Edinburgh Award (Bronze, Silver or Gold). Members are also offered a variety of Scouting opportunities to take part in – including paddle boarding at ESSA, visit Winter-Wonderland in London, Westfield, Archery sessions etc.

We currently fundraise through the Broxbourne Lottery, fetes and events throughout the year and organised activities (eg quizzes) run by leaders.

Leaders with more knowledge and experience are always welcome. Email us: agilisexplorers.scouting@gmail.com

Cygnus Explorers are new in 2024 and offer a variety of experiences, led by the young people themselves – pioneering, hiking, biscuit decorating and more have already been undertaken with loads more to come!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
