3rd Hoddesdon

The Group was founded in 1946, with the hut in Foxton Road being formally opened on 23 June 1961. It is operated by a combined committee with the 1st Hoddesdon Guides.

The Beavers and Cubs were suspended in January 2022 post-Covid, but were successfully relaunched in September 2022, and now have 17 and 13 members respectively.

The Scouts presently have 8 members, plus a few older Scouts retained as Young Leaders.

We could do with an extra leader in each section, but particularly Cubs.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
